This article was written before the Lions made most of the roster cuts and other transactions to get to 53 players.

Chad Cota was waived with an Injury Settlement. Cota might be back with the Lions later this season and/ or in 2024. But it won't be this week and anytime soon.

Obinna Eze might get another Practice Squad opportunity with the Lions as soon as today. But of the Offensive Tackles that the Lions waived, and hence subject to the waiver claims process, I believe Connor Galvin should be a will be the Practice Squad priority for the Lions.

Trevor Nowaske will very likely be a Practice Squad Priority for the Lions if he clears waivers.

Benny Snell is likely heavily in the mix to be brought back by the Lions one way or another.

Maurice Alexander is likely in the mix to be brought back to the Lions Practice Squad as early as tomorrow. But I believe Dylan Drummond is the Lions top priority of the Lions WRs that the Lions let go this week.

Cory Durden will very likely be a Practice Squad priority for the Lions if he clears waivers.

Khalil Dorsey survived the Cutdown to 53.

Brandon Joseph will likely be a Practice Squad priority for the Lions if he clears waivers.

Steven Gilmore survived the Cutdown to 53.

Benny Snell is likely heavily in the mix to be brought back by the Lions one way or another.

Darrell Daniels will very likely be back with the Lions one way or another, unless he gets a contract offer to sign with another team's 53 man roster, with the Lions only offering him a Practice Squad opportunity at present.

Predicting the Detroit Lions practice squad

Jermar Jefferson was Waived Injured. It's possible Jefferson will be back with the Lions as a player at some point later this season or in the future. My guess is both parties will go in different directions. Jefferson would probably be better off with a fresh opportunity elsewhere.

Adrian Martinez probably will be signed to the Lions Practice Squad. I would be VERY surprised if Martinez is claimed off waivers today. Even with Martinez back, I can envision the Lions either claiming a QB off waivers or signing a QB to the Practice Squad, who played for another team this summer. There are options that probably will be better than Martinez once they get familiarity with the Lions Offense and some timing with the receivers, and the overall Offensive supporting cast.

I expect the Lions to sign Parker Romo to the Practice Squad. I think it's highly likely he clears waivers.

Kayode Awosika will likely be a Lions Practice Squad priority, if he clears waivers.

Brady Breeze is probably behind Brandon Joseph in the Lions Practice Squad preference order.

Devine Ozigbo could realistically be signed to the Lions Practice Squad as early as today. My guess is Benny Shell has the edge over Ozigbo for a Lions Practice Squad opportunity. Ozigbo has an outside chance in the next couple of being re-signed by the Lions to the regular roster.

Like the last two articles, this article was written before the Lions finished with the cutdown to 53.

I believe Starling Thomas V is the Lions top CB Practice Squad priority, with Chase Lucas next on the list. Because both are amongst the best players the Lions let go, if they both clear waivers, I think the Lions will try to sign both of them to the Practice Squad. Whether one of them will decide to sign with another NFL Practice Squad remains to be seen. It wouldn't surprise me if that happens, being that the Lions are deep at CB.
