Chase Lucas got caught in a numbers game. Lucas much more likely than not would have survived the cutdown to 53, if he was up against the roster landscape in previous Lions seasons. I thought Lucas' chances of surviving the cutdown to 53 were 51 %, after his strong performance at Carolina in the pre-season finale. It remains to be seen if CB Emmanuel Mosely will be activated from the PUP List before the Tuesday at 4:00pm deadline for NFL teams to get down to 53 players.
I think there's amount a 45 % chance that Chase Lucas is claimed off waivers by another NFL team. If Lucas clears waivers, I think he will be a Practice Squad priority signing for the Lions.
