Detroit Lions now free to hire Dan Campbell as head coach
.......
I'm anticipating that Dan Campbell will meet with the Lions brass by tomorrow ( Tuesday ) and will officially be the Lions Head Coach by Wednesday.
With LA Rams Defensive Coordinator Brandon Staley officially hired as the LA Chargers HC, I don't anticipate the Lions conducting any first interviews with additional HC candidates.
Assuming Dan Campbell becomes Lions HC, I expect that Darrell Bevell will understandably want to go elsewhere to coach.

If Detroit Lions' Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes are 'servants,' who is giving orders?
........
Dan Campbell managed 12 games as Dolphins Interim HC. He's better equipped in his first season as Lions HC to manage a game than coaches that have not been in the NFL HC position. .
The uncertainty about who makes a decision if Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell don't come to an agreement is concerning..
Dan Campbell apologized again for his 1998 comment, despite it happening over 22 years ago. I'm not aware of Campbell making other comments along the lines of his 1998 comment. Let it go, Carlos!

"as a 22-year-old college student"Gosh, how long can you be accountable for silly things you've said when you were young !
"who makes a decision if Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell don't come to an agreement" Always the man holding the purse strings

I'm confident that the Lions vetted Dan Campbell with a fine tooth comb and are more than comfortable that Campbell will be an excellent representative of the Detroit Lions franchise.
Unless Sheila Ford Hamp ( or Rod Wood ) relies on Chris Spielman to make football related decisions, if Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell can't come to an agreement in a given situation, a bad Lions outcome is likely.

Bill Cowher: Detroit Lions never were a tough team. Dan Campbell can change that
.........
Time will tell if G Logan Stenberg will merit playing time in his 2nd season in the NFL. Stenberg's nasty/ take no prisoners approach came to mind reading Bill Cowher' s thoughts and the overall article. Stenberg could potentially benefit as much as anyone on the Lions with Dan Campbell being the team's new HC and Anthony Lynn bring the Offensive Coordinator.

Four of seven new coaches had only one interview in the 2021 cycle
......
Dan Campbell had a favorable experience being with the Lions as a player. Campbell was never part of the other 6 NFL organizations that were seeking a new HC in January. Campbell had the passion to become Lions HC. Based on Campbell's comments, the authentic passion on that level likely wouldn't have been there if he interviewed for any of the 6 HC openings. Campbell fit what the Lions were looking for. It doesn't matter that none of the other 6 teams requested an interview with him.
