Unless the guaranteed money in the contract is less than $ 9 million, this is a contract that is better than I thought A'Shawn Robinson would get. I'm confident the Lions had no intention of giving Robinson a contract that averaged out to $ 8.5 million per season. My gut feeling is the Lions preferred Danny Shelton over A'Shawn Robinson, even though Shelton's 2 year contract averages $ 4 million per season.
It looked like A'Shawn Robinson turned the corner during the 2018 season after he was on the Inactive List in the MNF vs. the Jets.
At times relatively early in the 2019 season, Robinson was continuing to play at most of his 2018 level. That didn't seem to be the case often enough as the 2019 season went on.
It's best that the two parties move in another direction. A huge question mark is will the Rams get through to Robinson about staying focused and under control more than when he was with the Lions? His temper get the best of him and the Lions as a result, too often.
