Detroit Lions' A'Shawn Robinson worried about making Super Bowl, not his contract
……………….
This thread relates to the following thread:
Texans 30, Lions 23: Pre-season Game # 2: ( 2019 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/335/lions-texans-preview-season-game
My gut feeling is the two parties won't agree to a 3 or more season new contract. A'Shawn Robinson greatly improved from Game # 2 on last season, before he suffered a season ending knee injury in Game # 15 vs. Minnesota.
Having said that, I'm not convinced Matt Patricia believes Robinson has the football character ( self starting, passionate about being an NFL player ) that would lead to a high priced long term contract agreement. Robinson is a good system fit though. It's realistically possible that Robinson will earn the trust of Patricia and the two parties will agree to a long term contract. But if I was to guess the outcome, Robinson will be with another team in 2020.

A’Shawn Robinson ruled out, might have already played final game in Detroit
……………..
The injury factor contributed to A'Shawn Robinson's overall performance level this season. Yet, when all is said and done, I think there's a good chance the Lions will move on from Robinson. I don't think Robinson provides the trust that's needed for the two parties to come to a new contract agreement. Especially, a longer contract.
