I'm not surprised that Kyle Peko wasn't signed to the Lions 53 man roster before the opener vs. the LA Rams. The reason being, his full 2024 season salary would have been guaranteed if he was on the 53 opening day roster. It will be interesting to see if the Lions decide to sign Peko from the PS as early as Monday or sometime in the next week or two.
Dan Campbell had praise for Chris Smith as the cutdown to 53 was getting close. Hopefully, Smith is able to meet Coach Campbell's expectations, if given opportunities, beginning tomorrow night against the Rams.
With both Smith and Peko now eligible to play tomorrow night, I think it's more likely than not that DJ Reader will be inactive for this game.
