Detroit Lions down 2 players as practice ramps up for Rams

Ifeatu Melifonwu likely won't play in this game. It wouldn't surprise me if Iffy ends up on IR.
If Loren Strickland doesn't practice by the next time (tomorrow or Thursday) that the Lions are practicing, his availability for this game would be in doubt.
Erick Hallett could be elevated from the Practice Squad for this game, despite having only around 10 days to become familiar with the Lions playbook.

Rams injury report: Rob Havenstein, 2 others limited Wednesday

Assuming that Darius Williams and Cobie Durant play in the game, the Lions will likely test both of them at some point in the 1st Half of the game. Williams, after being with the Jaguars for 2 seasons, is back with the LA Rams. Despite Williams being only around 5'9", Williams has performed better on the outside than in the slot.
Cobie Durant will likely be the Rams primary Slot CB.

The injury situation regarding Ifeatu Melifonwu looks better than it did earlier in the week, though I think his snap count will be limited vs. the LA Rams if he plays in the game.
The thumb injury Loren Strickland is dealing with will very likely keep him from being cleared for the Rams game.

Rams place CB Darious Williams on IR

The loss of Darius Williams is a major one for the LA Rams.
The Rams likely will turn to CB Josh Wallace, an UDRFA from Michigan to either start or to be used when the Rams are in Nickel Packages. Wallace ran a 4.69 40 at the Combine, which is a very slow time for the position. I'm anticipating the Rams would give him help, especially Safety help, frequently. Especially, if he's matched up against speedster Jameson Williams.

Warren McClendon Jr., who the LA Rams selected in Round 5 of the 2023 Draft, is the only backup Tackle listed on the Rams Depth Chart. This is factoring in the 2 week suspension for Alaric Jackson. McClendon played in 6 games as a rookie for the Rams, with 0 starts.
