I'm going to focus on some of the players that I didn't start threads on, regarding them being let go.
No surprise that Jake Fromm was waived. Having said that, I prefer Fromm over Nate Sudfeld for a PS spot, if it comes down to one vs. the other. If the Lions brass values Sudfeld's input, it would make sense to hire him as an Assistant QB Coach.
If the Lions want 2 RBs on the Practice Squad, I hope that in addition to Zonovan Knight being signed to the PS, that Jermar Jefferson is as well.
Maurice Alexander would be a solid PS option, if the Lions want at least 2 WRs on the PS. Alexander is familiar with the Lions Offensive system, plus he has KR and PR experience.
I believe the Lions made the right decision keeping Parker Hesse over James Mitchell. Hesse is a more consistent player. It's probably best for the Lions and Mitchell to go in different directions.
Letting go Nate Sudfeld enabled the Lions to keep Michael Niese on the 53 man roster.
Kingsley Eguakun would make plenty of sense to sign to the PS, if he's not claimed off waivers. I think there's at most a 45 % chance that Eguakun is claimed off waivers.
Jamarco Jones and Jake Burton are two other Lions Offensive Lineman let go that I would like to see on the Lions PS.
After it was mentioned that the Lions were letting go of Mitchell Agude, I thought Isaac Ukwu had a good chance to be on the Lions initial 53 man roster. I'm surprised he was let go. I think there's as much as a 49% chance Ukwu is claimed off waivers. He would definitely be at or near the top of the Lions of players I hope the Lions end up signing to the PS.
Mathieu Betts probably should go back to the CFL, where he can make a difference as a Pro Football player.
I didn't expect Kyle Peko to be released but I believe he will be re-signed as early sometime this week, with John Cominsky being placed on IR.
Loren Strickland surviving the cutdown to 53 and 52 surprised me, with Brandon Joseph also being on the Lions initial 53 man roster. Strickland was a pleasant surprise in the Lions pre-season games.
Ifeatu Melifonwu is likely headed to Short Term IR.
C.J. Moore would make a lot of sense for the Lions to sign to the PS, if Moore doesn't get an offer or an offer he likes, to sign a regular contract with another team. Moore is a vested veteran, hence not subject to the waiver claims process.
