Jared Goff and Michael Brockers have many more former teammates expected to play in the upcoming Lions-LA Rams game than Matthew Stafford does. Even less for A'Shawn Robinson, who signed with the Rams as an UDRFA in 2020.

One thing Matthew Stafford won't see is a Lions player wearing # 9 jersey, as the Lions haven't given out the # 9 to any player this season. At some point in a future sesson, I expect # 9 to be given to another Lions player.

The Lions Defense and overall team made Matthew Stafford and his LA Rams teammates work harder for a victory than they likely expected. The next time the Lions face Matthew Stafford and the Rams, the Lions need to much better equipped to win. That's a realistic expectation.

This game wasn't as close as the 23 point margin of victory for the LA Rams reflects. The Rams Defense overwhelmed the Cardinals Offense. The Rams running game put the Rams in favorable situations repeatedly. Cam Akers' comeback from a Torn Achilles Tendon, only around 7 months after he suffered the injury, is one of the NFL stories of the season.

Matthew Stafford had a very good to great performance, taking advantage of an extremely favorable game situation. Stafford's comments in the last article are basically what I hoped he would say. As much as this game likely means deep down to Stafford, he realizes that the Rams have much greater goals ahead. Beginning this coming Sunday in Tampa Bay, against the defending Super Bowl Champion Bucs.

The Bucs are having numerous injury issues,. With, their injuries at RT and Center most concerning on this end because of Aaron Donald, Leonard Floyd, and Von Miller on the LA Rams roster. The Lions are in serious danger of the Rams 1st Round pick not being on higher than pick # 29. The Bucs Defense needs to build on their performance in the first 3 QTRs, in their one sided win over the Eagles.

If the LA Rams to on to win at least one Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford as their QB, the trade with the Lions would have worked out well for them. It will be at least several years before conclusions can be made whether the trade worked out well for the Lions.

Reacting to Matthew Stafford winning a Super Bowl in another uniform

Congratulations to Matthew Stafford on helping lead the LA Rams to a late comeback Super Winning Victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Congrats to A'Shawn Robinson for his major contribution in the playoffs and the Super Bowl game. And congrats to Brandon Powell for his contribution for the LA Rams Super Bowl winning team, especially as a Punt Returner.

With WR Odell Beckham Jr. suffering a knee injury that ended his day during the 2nd QTR, the Rams Offense struggled for the most part until what became the 78 yard Game Winning Drive. Tremendous job by Mathhew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and the Rams that contributed to their pass blocking on that drive. Aaron Donald and Von Miller were the key players in sealing the game for the Rams on the Bengals final possession. Kupp is a good choice as Super Bowl MVP but a case can be made for Donald or Stafford as well.

A correction from the article. Matthew Stafford did have 3 straight game winning drives to close out the playoffs. But in the game at Tampa Bay, the game was tied when Stafford led the Rams to a game winning drive that ended with a short FG.
