I have great respect for Todd Bowles' work as a Defensive Coordinator. However, I believe the Lions should go in another direction for the HC position.

Two concerns regarding Todd Bowles as a HC are:

1) The Jets were heavily penalized during his time he was their Head Coach.

2) His game / time management also jump out in a negative way.

Eric Bieniemy, Robert Saleh, Todd Bowles, and Arthur Smith are the HC candidates that the Lions interviewed or have an interview scheduled.

I'm somewhat surprised that as many as 3 teams are considering Todd Bowled for their next HC opening.

Todd Bowles did a great job in the Bucs playoff wins at New Orleans and at Green Bay. If I'm looking for a Defensive Coordinator and Bowles is available, he would be at or near the top of the list of who I want to hire.

Having said this, it's best for the Lions, Bowles, and the Bucs that the Lions cancelled his scheduled HC interview with the team..
