Jets fire Todd Bowles………. This was expected but disappointing news. Todd Bowles is a class act, who was in a rebuild situation the last 2 seasons with the Jets.
Bowles' finest coaching moment in the last 2 seasons arguably was the Lions worst moment. The Jets, with rookie QB Sam Darnold starting his first NFL game, beat the Lions by a score of 48-17 in the 2018 season MNF opener. In that game, the Jets looked by far the more prepared and discipline team. Reality of having a rookie QB, with a limited roster ( in part because of injuries. ) set in after that for the Jets. Bowles ended up paying the price. Penalties were a far too common theme with the Jets.

Jets, Browns have interest in Jim Caldwell……………...
I think Jim Caldwell would be a very good fit with Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield. However, I don't think he would be a good fit for the New York and Cleveland markets. Caldwell was disturbed by the negativity of the Detroit media that covered the Lions. New York and Cleveland have many similarities in that regard. I n the case of New York, he would have to deal with the combination of negativity and vast size of the media.

Jets say coaching candidates who want total control are “off the table”
…………………. Based on Jim Caldwell's comments when he was the Lions HC, he's not someone who is looking for total control.
If Christopher Johnson follows through on his plans, I doubt Jim Harbaugh will become the Jets HC this year. I can't imagine Harbaugh leaving Michigan for an NFL team that he's not calling the personnel decision shots.

Jets announce Eric Bieniemy interview is complete
…………………...A major question mark regarding Eric Bieniemy as an NFL HC candidate is will one or more teams that have an interview with him this week be willing to wait until after the Super Bowl to hire him, if the AFC # 1 seed Chiefs reach the Super Bowl?

Adam Gase will interview with Jets on Friday
………………………….. Because the Jets played against the Dolphins 6 games in the 3 seasons Adam Gase was their HC, Jets GM Mike Maccagnan likely has a better gauge on Gase than most in his position.

Jets complete interview with Adam Gase………………………. I think the # 1 criteria on who will be hired as the next Jets HC is which coach can do the most for QB Sam Darnold to reach his QB potential.
