Good addition and decision by the Lions. I'm definitely comfortable with the contract, even not knowing all of the key details.

Amik Robertson is a versatile CB with good ball skills. Robertson had a game sealing interception very late in the Raiders win over the Packers this past October on MNF. He's been durable the last 2 seasons, after missing some games with a hip injury in the 2021 season.

While Robertson is short, he more than held his own as an Outside CB in the 2023 season.

With the Lions adding Robinson, it seems even less likely that the Lions will end up re-signing C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Robinson is good fit as a Slot CB and would provide good depth for Brian Branch at that position. When Branch is used at Safety, Robinson can fill in at CB.

If the Lions and Amik Robertson want to continue their football relationship beyond this season, a contract extension or a restructure are viable options. At this time, I believe the Lions will try to reduce the $ 6.4 million 2025 salary cap number for Robertson.
