Isaiah Buggs is a very important player for the Lions run Defense, who provided some help to the Lions pass rush during the team's 8-2 finish to the 2022 season. Buggs intangibles certainly was a significant part of the Lions turnaround from a 1-6 start and 3-13-1 2021 season.

Good decision by both the Lions and Buggs with the new contract. The Lions keep an important player as the team tries to continue to ascend. Buggs avoids the risk of the open market.

For a former 6th Round Pick (Steelers-2019), a player who was discarded by the Steelers late in the 2021 season, then signed to the Raiders P.S., and an unsigned player until a few days before the start of 2022 season training camp last summer when the Lions signed Isaiah Buggs, this is a contract that is a huge increase in pay & security. It's easy to see why Buggs agreed to the contract, before the legal FA Tampering Period began.
