Lions agree to a 2 yr. contract with DE-OLB Charles Harris

Chances are enormously high that the contract Jarrad Davis signed with the Lions today is for far less monetary value than the contract he signed with the Jets last March. That contract was agreed to not that long after the Legal Tampering Period began last March. At this current time, the 1st Phase of the 2022 NFL Free Agency period ended around 12 days ago. The contract is very likely favorable for the Lions. With incentives a major part of the contract.
Dan Campbell was hoping the Lions would be able to feasibly re-sign Jarrad Davis in 2021. It didn't work out for the Lions. Davis' stay with the Jets didn't work out, at least in part due to Davis missing a lot of combined time with injury and COVID-19.
As long as the contract is along the Lions that I believe is the case, I'm in favor of the Lions decision to re-sign Davis. He has good leadership skills, works very hard on and off the field, and still should have the type of physical skills that contributed greatly to the Lions (then GM Bob Quinn) selecting him with pick # 21 in the 2017 Draft.
For Jarrad Davis' second stint with the Lions turning out better than his first stint, it begins with the need for Davis to stay relatively healthy. He needs practice rep after practice rep. That much more with Davis being in a different Defensive System, playing with a supporting cast he won't recognize for the most part.
