PFT’s NFL Week 14 2020 picks .........
Packers (-7.5) at Lions
MDS’s take: The Lions looked like they were playing harder for interim head coach Darrell Bevell last week, but they just don’t have the personnel to beat the Packers.
MDS’s pick: Packers 24, Lions 21.
Florio’s take: Last week’s win gives the Lions slim hopes for the postseason. Those hopes will be dashed by Aaron Rodgers.
Florio’s pick: Packers 31, Lions 17.
........
With a relatively healthy Aaron Rodgers, holding the Packers to 24 points is a best case type of outcome for the Lions ( if the Lions win the game ).

There are surprises every week but the Packers are firing on all cylinders. I don't think the Lions have the personnel to compete right now. Moreover, the Packers have an opportunity to clinch the home field advantage, they won't back off.

Well stated.
For the Lions to pull off a major upset vs. the Packers, the Lions probably will need at minimum to be + 2 in takeaways vs. turnovers AND win the Special Teams.

Detroit Lions elevate 3 practice squad players for their Week 14 game against the Packers
..........
Much like with Joe Dahl, Oday Aboushi was starter at LT in college. Hopefully, the Lions won't have to turn to either of them and/ or to Dan Skipper at either Tackle position.
Kareem Martin was a 3rd Round Pick with the Cardinals and signed with the Giants as an UFA a few years later. Martin has had a disappointing NFL career through this point in time. He looks the part of a starting caliber 4-3 DE. Martin has plenty experience as a 3-4 OLB. Hopefully, the light will go on for Martin tomorrow, with the opportunity to play with his former Giants teammate Romeo Okwara in a game again. The Giants gave up on both of them. Both also have roots in the state of North Carolina.

NFL Week 14 game picks, schedule guide, playoff scenarios, fantasy football tips, odds, injuries and more
Packers (9-3) at Lions (5-7) 4:25 p.m. ET | Fox Matchup rating: 51.7 | Spread: GB -9 (55)
What to watch for: The Lions were invigorated by the change in coach from Matt Patricia to Darrell Bevell last week. This week? That can only carry a team so far, and Green Bay is one of the NFL's best teams. The Lions' poor defense is still their poor defense, and the roster still has big-time holes in it. Those holes could show up in a big way on Sunday. -- Michael Rothstein
Bold prediction: The Packers will set not one but two milestones. First, wide receiver Davante Adams will catch a touchdown in his eighth straight game to break Don Hutson's nearly 80-year-old team record. Second, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will throw four touchdown passes to get to 40 on the season for the third time in his career, which would be the most in NFL history. -- Rob Demovsky
Stat to know: On play-action, Rodgers has an NFL-high 18 passing touchdowns with zero interceptions this season. That's the most in a season since it was first tracked in 2006. His 74% completion percentage on play-action passes is also No. 1 in the NFL, while his 96.8 passing yards per game on those plays ranks second.
Playoff/draft picture: The Packers can clinch the NFC North with a win and a Vikings loss in Week 14. But they could also just clinch a playoff berth with a win and a loss from either the Cardinals or Jets. The Packers own the tiebreaker over the Saints, who sit at 10-2, and they enter the week with a 38% chance at the No. 1 seed in the NFC, per FPI. A win pushes it to 45%, but a loss dims those hopes to the tune of 12%. The Lions, meanwhile, are projected to pick ninth in the NFL draft, and they still have a 2.1% chance to climb into the top five.
What to know for fantasy: Rodgers is averaging 0.66 fantasy points per pass attempt, his most since 2011. See Week 14 rankings.
Betting nugget: Green Bay is 5-1 ATS against teams with losing records this season. Read more.
Demovsky's pick: Packers 31, Lions 23 Rothstein's pick: Packers 34, Lions 24 FPI prediction: GB, 77.9% (by an average of 10.2 points)
..........
If Aaron Rodgers remains relatively healthy through the game, I'm expecting the Packers to get at least 4 total TDs. With 5 even more likely, and 6 not out of the question if the Lions are able to stay close enough on the scoreboard that the Packers don't put on the brakes

Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
.........
Kenny Clark was sidelined with a groin injury when the teams met in Green Bay in mid September. He's not only one of the best run Defending interior Defensive Lineman in the NFL. He's also an underrated pass rusher. The Frank Ragnow vs. Kenny Clark matchup is arguably the highest caliber matchup that is likely to occur in this game.

Packers vs. Lions: 5 things to watch and a prediction
..........
With C Corey Lindsey on IR with a knee injury, the Packers juggled their Offensive Line. Hence, Rick Wagner is starting at RT. This is a matchup Romeo Okwara needs to win, both as a pass rusher and against the run.

Without surprise, Davante Adams is by far Rodgers'preferred target but Aaron Jones is also a major threat in the passing game, I'm expecting Rodgers to use him as a mismatch.
If Rodgers can sit in the pocket or nonchalantly jog outside, he will tear the Lions defense apart.

It would help sum up why the Packers and Lions are miles apart, if former Lions UDRFA TE Robert Tonyan has a multi-TD game, much like he had for the Packers against the Falcons on MNF back in early October.

Detroit Lions Week 14 inactives: D'Andre Swift is ACTIVE
.........
The Lions list of Inactive players today is good news under the circumstance of Lions injuries that resulted in uncertainty for today. The same for the Packers, regarding their injuries.
D'Shawn Hand and Austin Bryant both need to step up, after being out with injuries for multiple games.
My prediction for the game is Packers 41, Lions 27.
For the Lions to pull off a huge upset ( spread went up to Packers favored by 9 points ) without factoring in additional injuries to either team, the Lions must force multiple Packers turnovers, protect the ball, win the Special Teams battle, and control the ball to the point that the Packers will have one or more less possessions than in a typical game.
There's also no question the Lions can't let Aaron Rodgers get comfortable inside or outside the pocket. The Lions Defensive performance needs to be greater than its parts for this to happen.
