Lions reportedly won’t know Chicago’s starting quarterback ahead of Week 1 game
............
My gut feeling is that regardless of Matt Nagy wanting to keep the Bears starting QB decision for the opener in Detroit a secret until the day of the game, he's not likely going to succeed with that.
Regardless which of the two QBs starts for Chicago, the Lions need to be prepared for both. The starter might not even finish the game because of performance, let alone potential injury during the game.

PFT’s Week One picks
.........
Bears (+3) at Lions
MDS’s take: Mitch Trubisky owns Matt Patricia’s defense. In the three games Trubisky has started against the Lions since Patricia became Detroit’s coach, the Bears are 3-0 and Trubisky has completed 68 of 91 passes for 866 yards, with nine touchdowns and one interception. Trubisky should keep it going on Sunday.
MDS’s pick: Bears 34, Lions 20.
Florio’s pick: The Bears believe in Mitchell Trubisky today. But will they believe in him come Monday? Believe it or not, the Lions will ride a healthy Matthew Stafford to a 1-0 start.
Florio’s pick: Lions 23, Bears 20.
This game will be a measuring stick of the Lions depth at a number of positions, especially RT, WR, and RB. And possibly CB. Not to mention injuries that could occur during the game.

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
.........
Eddie Goldman was a differential run defender for the Bears. The Lions need to take advantage of Goldman opting out. This could put the Lions in more favorable down and distance situations.
I hope that the decision is to kick the ball out of the end zone. Cordarrelle Patterson is far too dangerous to let return kickoffs.

Lions vs. Bears: Matchups to watch, key questions heading into season opener
............
If rookie CB Jaylon Johnson starts for the Bears, the Lions likely will test him. Johnson reminds me of a taller version of former Lions CB Dre' Bly. Big time ball skills and instincts. But at times is beat over the top because of his aggressiveness. The double move against Johnson is something to keep an eye on.
