There's no question the Lions need to err on the side of caution regarding all of the players dealing with hamstring injuries.

The injury to 'Big V' easily could be the most significant in terms of the opener against the Bears. Khalil Mack is dealing with a knee injury. But if he's relatively healthy by game time, the Lions are in serious trouble.

It's a longshot at best for Robert Quinn to play in this game after not practicing all week and no pre-season games in the NFL this year.

It's a toss up whether David Montgomery will play. He performed better against the Lions on Thanksgiving Day last season as a rookie than he did in most other games.

Kenny Golladay very likely will be inactive for this game.

With injuries at WR, RT, on the Defensive Line, and CB, the Lions could go a number of ways if one or two Practice Squad call ups for the game are used. I think CB Dee Virgin will be a call up because of the combination of providing CB depth and that he's a high caliber Special Teams Player.

Even if Julian Okwara is active for the game, I think his snaps will be on the low side. Probably not greater than 15.

Da'Shawn Hand could get many more snaps if the groin injury isn't adversely affecting him. Hand's health situation is a huge key to this game and the Lions overall season.

As important as this game is, especially since it's a divisional home game, I think Matt Patricia is making the right decision in being cautious with Jeff Okudah. Hamstring injuries can potential derail a player's season.
