Jamie Collins clearly has played his best NFL football with the Patriots. Though Collins has had success under Matt Patricia, a question mark is can Collins keep his focus outside of New England? His stay in Cleveland definitely didn't go well.

The other question mark is age. Jamie Collins turns 31 in the fall.

If the Lions get 2 seasons of the playmaking and versatile version of Jamie Collins, the contract the Lions are giving him will turn out to be a good decision. The risk is higher than I would like. But there's substantial reward in the Collins equation.

One added benefit that Collins provides is familiarity. This is that much more important in an off-season in which team activities might not take place. Or at the very least, there are going to be major limitations.

Jamie Collins is already one of the keys to the Lions 2020 season. When Collins has been relatively healthy and focused, he usually has been a differential player.

I inadvertently skipped over Jamie Collins when assessing the LBs written in the FA LB preview article that Dave Birkett wrote. Unlike the other starting caliber LBs mentioned in the article, I thought Collins' physical skills, combined with anticipated contract numbers, was a good fit for the Lions. Collins has the size that fits very well in Matt Patricia's Defense. Especially, with the high caliber athletic ability Collins has demonstrated.

respect and agree with Alex Kemp's decision to eject Jamie Collins from the game. It will be interesting to see if any former NFL official publicly disagrees with Kemp ejecting Collins. And if yes, why?

Jamie Collins was a differential player in the first half of the game in Arizona. His overall performance in this game is a major step in compensating for his ejection vs. the Bears in the 2nd QTR of that game.
