Why Detroit Lions' bye week might not be helpful for Matthew Stafford
……………
Three thoughts come to mind regarding Matthew Stafford, as it relates to health:
1. The bye comes at a good time. Not only for Stafford. The current Lions injury situation is problematic.
2. The Lions have 10 days to get health for tbe game in Minnesota, following the Thanksgiving Day Game vs. Chicago. That extra 3 days rest is at a good time, with 5 remaining regular season games to follow.
3. It's possible that it will be in the best interest of Matthew Stafford and the Lions for him to sit out a game if rest can make a major possible difference for many games to follow.

Matthew Stafford will now have second-longest starting streak for quarterbacks
……………..
It was hard to envision anything remotely like this after Matthew Stafford missing more games than he was able to play in his first two combined seasons. Regardless how much longer Stafford's consecutive start streak lasts, what he has already accomplished in answering the bell each week, despite an assortment of injuries the last 9 seasons, has been remarkable.

Opposing coaches really, really love Matthew Stafford
……………...
Only a small number of other QBs in the level are at level Matthew Stafford is in terms of being able to keep their team competitive despite a struggling running game AND Defense. Matthew Stafford might not win a playoff game in the HOF. Time will tell. But much like with Jason Hanson, who was never on a playoff winning team in his 21 seasons with the Lions, Stafford is having a HOF Caliber caliber.

Matthew Stafford becomes NFL’s top passer after 400-yard game. It’s still not enough.
……………
This thread relates to the following thread:
Raiders 31 Lions 24: Game # 8 ( 2019 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/461/raiders-31-lions-game-2019
Like I mentioned in the Game thread, it looked like Matthew Stafford executed the handoff effectively 4hat a fumble resulted.
By no means did Stafford play perfectly. However, considering everything else in the game that transpired, including the Offensive Line having assignment / communication issues on a number of passing plays, a limited running game, and a Defense that gave up 31 points ( the Raiders drives following the 2 Lions turnovers were long in distance ), Stafford would have been the winning QB in most NFL situations QBs deal with.
