PRO-DAY UPDATE: Ohio State DT Michael Hall Jr. did not test at Combine but absolutely ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ his pro-day yesterday. He ran insane 4.76-4.78 (multiple NFL scouts โฑ๏ธ) at 299 pounds, which puts him with FSU's Braden Fiske as fastest IDL in this year's draft class.
Also 33.0 VJ, 9-3 BJ, and 24 bench reps. Scouts we spoke with said he looked twitched-up in DL drills.
@michaelhalljr_
should be an even better pro than college player.

Michael Hall Jr. played at a much lower weight (he was listed at 280 lbs) with Ohio State. Hall is around 6'2 5/8" tall, with 33 5/8" arm length. The latter is above average for a DT.
A major question mark regarding Hall as an NFL Draft prospect is whether he can handle a higher volume of Defensive Snaps than he was able to the last two seasons with the Buckeyes. Hall averaged only 28.3 Defensive Snaps per game the last two seasons, in part because of what's been described as nagging injuries. Also, can Hall maintain the higher weight in the NFL over the course of a season?
Hall probably has at least 2nd Round Talent. Yet, his production with Ohio St. his final season with OSU, was disappointing. He only had 1.5 sacks and 2 tackles for losses in 12 games. Effort isn't the issue. It's largely the need for Hall to be more consistent with his techniques.
Most likely, Hall will be drafted somewhere between the lower half of Round 2 through the early part of Round 4. I don't think the Lions should draft Hall with Pick # 61 in Round 2. My gut feeling is the Lions will pass on Hall with that pick and with Pick # 73, in Round 3, if he's still available. Though, with Pick # 73, it wouldn't surprise me if Hall was the selection, because he had 4.5 sacks in the 2022 season, and he has plenty of upside potential. Hall's quickness off the ball is a major plus.
