Vikings to acquire No. 23 overall pick from Texans

It seems like the Vikings received pick # 23 at a noticeably low trade compensation price than the pick is worth. Especially, when factoring in that the Vikings 2nd Round Pick in 2025 isn't present (2024) value. The Texans likely are expecting the Vikings to finish with one of the worst records in the 2024 season. If that's the case, they are taking a sizable risk.

The Vikings very likely are looking to trade up from Pick # 11 to draft a QB. Yet, if they consider the draft to have value with Pick # 23, by itself, the trade makes sense if they don't envision the 2024 season to be one in which they finish at or near the bottom of the overall NFL Standings.

Considering the Vikings don't currently have a 2nd Round Pick in 2025 and that it's uncertain how the QB crop in the 2025 Draft will shape up, I think they are going to trade up from Pick # 11 for a QB. I think it's more of a question how far up the Vikings will end up going in the 2024 Draft, as well as what's the trade compensation they are willing to pay for each QB that they believe they would have to trade up for, without being at significant risk of losing the opportunity to draft the respective QB?
