This looks like a good contract for both parties.

I'm confident that Jared Goff's asking price is going to be MUCH higher than what Baker Mayfield received to re-sign with the Bucs.

Kirk Cousins to sign with the Falcons

Whatever the numbers that Kirk Cousins agreed to with the Falcons will impact the Lions contract negotiations with Jared Goff.

Unless the Vikings trade for a QB who they view as a long term answer, I think they are going to draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd Round of this year's draft. With the 1st Round being more likely.

With Cousins leaving for Atlanta, a huge question mark becomes the future for Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, who is clearly at or near the top of the list of best WRs in the NFL? Jefferson apparently wanted Cousins to remain with the Vikings. Now that Cousins is leaving, will Jefferson sign a lucrative contract extension?

This contract Kirk Cousins agreed to with the Falcons is probably in the ballpark of what it will take for the Lions to sign Jared Goff to a contract extension. Being that Goff will turn 30 in October and isn't coming off a major injury, Goff's agent would understandably ask for more guaranteed money than what Cousins is receiving from the Falcons.
