Even at the NFL Veteran Minimum, it's probably best the Lions don't sign Laken Tomlinson. The combination of Tomlinson likely being in decline as a player and that in essence he can only fill in at Guard, are the two reasons why I believe the Lions should go in another direction. The Lions need better starting Guard options and better reserve Offensive Line options than what Tomlinson can provide at this stage of his NFL playing career.

There's no way the Lions were going to come close to giving Robert Hunt what the Panthers are going to be paying him. Huge investment for Guard!

Evan Brown agrees to one-year deal with Cardinals

Hjalte Froholdt was the Arizona Cardinals starting Center in the 2023 season and is probably the favorite to be the Cardinals starting C for the 2024 season. At the very least, Evan Brown should provide the Cardinals with pretty good depth at Center and Guard. The contract makes sense for both parties.

With Graham Glasgow having the versatility to start at all 3 Interior Offensive Line positions, the contract Brown received from the Cardinals is likely more than the Lions would have been comfortable with to bring him back to Detroit
