After years of speculation and uncertainty regarding Aaron Rodgers' future with the Packers, Rodgers is no longer with the Packers. This is a trade that definitely increases the Jets chances not only to break their 12 season playoff appearance drought but to be a major factor in the playoffs.
For the Packers, they now have a clear path to see if Jordan Love is a long term solution at QB. In limited game action, the results haven't been promising for the Packers. They still have plenty of high quality players on their roster. But unless Love substantially exceeds consensus expectations for him in the 2023 season, the Packers likely will have their 2nd straight losing record. This time, probably not coming close to even their 8-9 record this past season.
The Packers received more in trade compensation than I anticipated them receiving. Especially, with them going up from Pick # 15 to Pick # 13 AND the terms of the Packers receiving a 1st Round Pick in 2024, instead of a 2nd Round Pick.
