The Detroit Lions should prioritize wide receiver in the NFL Draft
...........
Along the lines of what was mentioned in the article, I agree that WR is a greater concern regarding the Lions than the consensus opinion.
With the possible exceptions of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Quentin Johnston, there probably isn't a WR in this draft that would be a good enough value selection with pick # 18.
The 2nd Round is likely when the Lions can get better value in selecting a WR than the 1st Round.

Detroit Lions draft plans after Jameson Williams suspension
.......
This thread relate to the following thread:
NFL suspends Lions WRs Jamison Williams 6 games for Gambling

Cedric Tillman and Jonathan Mingo are of the two WRs that I hope the Lions at least seriously consider, if the Lions don't end up with WR Quentin Johnston in Round 1. My thoughts regarding Johnston in the following thread apply to Tillman and Mingo from the standpoint of what they can provide (to some extent) while Jamison Williams is suspended and in the long term. Though, Johnston is a higher end version of Tillman and Mingo:
Lions have Picks # 6 and # 18 in the 2023 NFL Draft

Johnston can help provide the vertical threat dimension while Jamison Williams is suspended and be a long term solution at the X Receiver position.
Regarding, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, though I think he will probably be drafted before Pick # 18, I prefer the Lions to pass on him at # 18. The reason being, much like Amon-Ra St. Brown, JSN is best suited to play in the Slot.

Lions 2023 draft preview: Detroit could find long-term value in restocking at receiver
.............
This thread relates to the following thread:
Mock Draft ( 2023) - DLF Members
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/1760/mock-draft-2023-dlf-members
This article was written before Jamison Williams' 6 game suspension and the release of Quintez Cephus.
While A.T Perry has good down the field skills, he seems too one dimensional. He's probably not going to add enough as a blocker, in addition to his thin frame being making him vulnerable to being effectively jammed at or near the Line of Scrimmage, and his limitations in getting separation against man to man coverage when cutting laterally. I believe the Lions will pass on Perry with Pick # 81 in Round 3. Perry will probably be drafted in the latter part of Round 3 or Round 4. If he's available with Pick # 152 in Round 5, the Lions will probably have better overall options. Perry likely won't offer much on Special Teams.
Bryce Ford-Wheaton has the upside to be a major factor in the NFL. His 41" vertical jump at the Combine, coupled with being over 6-3 1/2", having long arms for a WR (33 1/2"), and running a 4.38 40 weighing 221 pounds at the Combine, reflect his overall athletic skills. Yet, his production and play with Wake Forest was nowhere near what his measurables suggest it should have been. Ford-Wheaton must work on his route running and concentration. My guess is the Lions aren't going to take a chance on Ford-Wheaton, if available in the 5th Round. I have doubts the Lions would draft him under most 6th Round draft scenarios, even with the Lions having two 6th Round picks.
Relatively speaking, Andrei Iosivas has similarities with Bryce Ford-Wheaton, though at a little over 6-3", he weighed 'only' 205 pounds. Both WRs might have to go the Practice Squad route.
Xavier Hutchinson was a productive WR with Iowa St. But his upside isn't close to being high. He also offers very little on Special Teams. I think the Lions should pass on him and believe that will be the case throughout the draft.

2023 NFL draft: Another wide receiver could still interest Detroit Lions
......
Jalin Hyatt probably won't last to Pick # 48, the Lions first scheduled pick in Round 2. I'm projecting Hyatt to be drafted by the Chiefs with Pick # 31 in Round 1. He's the type of WR that HC Andy Reid seems to prefer.
Rashee Rice would be a good fit for the Lions, in terms of his receiving skills and he's desire + skill set as a blocker. Rice also checks the box regarding high productivity as a WR in college. One downside in particular with Rice is he hasn't contributed on Special Teams. I think he's a prime candidate for Pick # 81, in Round 3, if available, and the Lions don't draft a WR earlier. More likely than not, Rice won't last to Pick # 81. He could realistically be drafted in Round 2.
Matt Landers had his best season as a Senior, his first with Arkansas. Whether he can continue to ascend remains to be seen. Overall, the parts have been greater than the sum with him. He's probably not someone the Lions would seriously consider in the draft, with the possible exception if the Lions end up with at least one pick in Round 7.
