If D.J. Chark can stay relatively healthy the vast majority of the season and continues to build football chemistry with Jared Goff, the Lions chances of being in playoff contention would improve substantially. Chark would likely receive a huge multi-year contract from the Lions or another NFL team.

If the Lions don't put D.J. Chark on IR this week, it will be a good sign that the Lions brass believes that Chark will be back in the next few weeks. Especially, since the Lions plan on activating Jerry Jacobs and Josh Paschal from the Regular Season PUP List. Right now, the Lions have 52 players on the roster.

It will be interesting to see if the Lions use D.J. Chark, Jamison Williams, and Amon-Ra St. Brown on any of the same plays against the Jaguars and in the games that follow.

Hopefully, Chark's ankle injury issues are behind him and that he can finish this season off strongly.

Ideally, the Lions will end up re-signing D.J. Chark. So much is going to depend on how much Chark wants to come back to the Lions. My gut feeling is at least one other team will offer Chark a better contract than the Lions will.
