Jared Goff thinks he'd embrace being a mentor to a young QB

It would be to Jared Goff's benefit to help any QB the Lions draft this year and as long as Goff is with the Lions. By being a team player, Goff would help his cause with the Lions, as long as he remains with the Lions, and with another team, if the Lions decide to move on from him.
Jared Goff's leadership during the 2021 season was from my point of view was very good. Goff seemed to take responsibility for teammates mistakes and lack of execution, as well as help keep the team focused and determined despite the Lions being the last team to win a game during the season. The Lions fought to the end of the season, with Goff being a key factor in the Lions season ending win over the Packers.
I'm optimistic that Goff will continue to be a team player and overall leader with the Lions, even if the Lions draft a QB in the top 2 Rounds of the 2022 Draft. |

Jared Goff entering his make-or-break season with the Lions

With major changes in the Lions Offensive System under new/ promoted to Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson, a key question seems to be, will Jared Goff and the Lions overall Offense be ready to build on the improvement on Offense late in the 2021 season? With the Lions having 3 home games in the first 4 games of the 2022 season, a sizable learning curve on either side of the ball could easily put the Lions in a hole the team won't be able to overcome.

It's uncertain that Jared Goff is a long term solution for the Lions. With the improvement Goff made in the latter part of last season, the confidence and commitment Goff has been displaying since, the promotion of Ben Johnson to Offensive Coordinator, the upgrades the Lions have made at WR, the continued growth of Amon-Ra St. Brown, an Offensive Line that has the potential to be one of the best all-around O-Lines in the NFL, and a Lions Defense that should noticeably improve, Goff has a much better chance at making a strong case to be the Lions long term solution at QB.

Jared Goff rates near the bottom in NFL QB rankings

These ranks are highly questionable. If Trey Lance warranted being ahead of Jared Goff going into the regular season, the 49ers wouldn't have retained Jimmy Garoppolo at a high price for a QB going into the season as their # 2 QB. They clearly have major concerns about Lance for at least this season.

Jared Goff nominated for FedEx Air Player of the Week honors

Most likely Jared Goff will finish 3rd in the FedEx Air Player of the Week honors. Tua Tagovailoa is the overwhelming favorite to win the award. Both Tua Tagovailoa and Joe Flacco helped lead their respective teams to improbable comeback wins yesterday.

As expected, Tua Tagovailoa won the FedEx Air Player of Week 2. Hopefully, Tua will make a full recovery from the injuries he suffered in last night's Dolphins-Bengals game.
Regarding the article in this message, the Lions are going to need crowd noise against the Seahawks, to help overcome the numerous injuries the team is dealing with. The crowd noise helped greatly in the Lions win over the Commanders, especially helping the Lions build a 22-0 Halftime lead.
