5 things to watch: You won’t like Aaron Rodgers when he’s angry ……...
The 49ers didn't respect the Lions deep passing game and as a result usually had an extra defender in or near the box. This makes the Lions overall rushing performance even more impressive than the stats reflected. However, it also lead to some running plays with minimal gain or worse. With the Lions then being in unfavorable down and distance situations. At least one sizable drive failed as a result.
Another issue with the 49ers not respecting the deep passing game is it noticeably limited the gains of some short passes.

Aaron Rodgers: I think loss is just a good learning lesson for us
How did Packers lack energy in Week One? ………….
It's possible that the game being played in a neutral site ( Jacksonville ), which didn't have the highly anticipated atmosphere of many neutral site games played outside North America, had an adverse affect on the Packers. It's something they know as well as anyone that it shouldn't have happened. But it did happen. How the Packers respond against the Lions will be one of the lead NFL stories for Week # 2 in the 2021 NFL season.

PFT’s NFL Week Two 2021 picks
Lions (+11) at Packers MDS’s take: Aaron Rodgers can’t possibly look as bad against the Lions as he did against the Saints.
MDS’s pick: Packers 30, Lions 23.
Florio’s take: Green Bay’s Week One no-show raises the stakes for this one, considerably. Even with the various distractions created by the quarterback’s tenuous status, Green Bay should win this one easily — and then the Lions could finagle another back-door cover.
Florio’s pick: Packers 34, Lions 24
.......
My early prediction for this game is Packers 34, Lions 16. The Lions injury situation makes it difficult to even predict as close of a game as the predictions from the article.

The Lions are huge underdogs, unfortunately I don't expect them to break the odds.

It probably won't happen. But like I just expressed in the following thread, the Packers losing their best edge and overall pass rusher Za'Darius Smith, for at least 3 games because of a back injury, is an enormous loss for them. With Taylor Decker being sidelined, Smith easily could have impacted the game. His versatility as a pass rusher, including from the inside, is also attention getting.

Detroit Lions' Dan Campbell: Saints 'kicked the hornet’s nest' with big win over Packers
……….
The formula the Saints beat the Packers with last week reminds me of the Lions win over the Packers early in the 2014 season, though that was a much lower scoring game for the Lions than what the Saints scored last Sunday. That was the most dominant Defensive performance by a Lions team against an Aaron Rodgers Packers team, in which the future 1st Ballot HOF QB played the entire game.

Behind Enemy Lines: Breaking down Monday Night Football with Packers Wire ………...
I'm anticipating that Joe Barry will use a more aggressive Defense to limit the Lions running game because of the Lions not demonstrating an effective deep passing game vs. SF. A possible change of strategy during the game is if QB Jared Goff and WR Trinity Benson connect on one or two deep passes.

Packers Wire staff predictions: Week 2 vs. Detroit Lions
……….
A realistically possible key to whether the Packers have an effective running game vs. the Lions is if LG Lucas Patrick is cleared from NFL Concussion protocol. Especially, with the Packers having rookies at C and RG.
It's understandable that these writers that cover the Packers have concerns about the Packers. The Lions need a strong start, as that could lead to doubts on some of the Packers players ( though I don't expect Aaron Rodgers to have doubts ).
From a Lions fan perspective, it's imperative the Lions don't fall behind by two or more TDs relatively early in the game. A lead certainly isn't safe ( the Packers double digit comeback wins in 3 of the last 4 games between the two teams ) illustrates this. But it certainly is better than the alternative of trying to complete a comeback. That much more with a limited passing game, without at least the team's # 1 WR.

Lions inactives for Week 2: Austin Bryant out, Julian Okwara active
………..
Kalif Raymond is Active for the Lions. Darnell Savage and Lucas Patrick are active for the Packers.
The Lions didn't call anyone up from the P.S. for the game. Hence, Geronimo Alison won't be playing against his former team this evening.
Julian Okwara need a to build on his week in practice, that led to him being active for the game.
