Great news under the circumstances of both players being kept out of the pre-season as precautions.

If D'Andre Swift doesn't have a setback this week leading up to the opener vs. the 49ers, he probably will get less snaps than would have been the case if he remained relatively healthy all summer.

Michael Brockers probably also will get less snaps. The Lions depth at DT, even with Da'Shawn Hand on Short Term IR and Jashon Cornell suspended, remains a team strength.

The. Lions tasks on Offense are still difficult and then-some. But the 49ers not having Javon Kinlaw and Emmanuel Moseley available significantly opens the door to pull off a major upset, if the Lions can effectively and efficiently protect Jared Goff from the 49ers edge rushers and edge pressure.
