I respect Taylor Decker's decision not to take a COVID-19 vaccine and others that decide not to take the Vaccine. The same regarding those who decided to take a COVID-19 vaccine, including Alex Anzalone. Each person should make the best informed decision possible.

If Taylor Decker remains relatively healthy, I'm optimistic that he will exceed the PTT # 19 Tackle Ranking. One reason is LG Jonah Jackson is no longer a rookie.

Jared Goff is the player the Lions can least afford not to have available for one or more games this season. Taylor Decker is arguably # 2 on the list.

More likely than not, Taylor Decker injured his finger in practice yesterday ( Wednesday ).

If Decker doesn't play vs. SF, T.J. Hockenson and/ or Darren Fells will likely be providing help for Matt Nelson.

I would be very surprised if Penei Sewell was the Lions primary option to replace Decker vs. SF. Nothing has indicated that Sewell was getting practice reps at LT, prior to yesterday. Even if Sewell is now getting some LT reps, I doubt the coaches would be comfortable using him at LT , as a primary option (with so few practice reps). If Decker is expected to be out for more than one game, the chances of Sewell being the primary option at LT beginning in Green Bay would increase.

It's probably best to go with Matt Nelson at LT for the game vs. the 49ers and then evaluate everything in the next couple of days. By going with Nelson, the rest of the Offensive Line would remain intact, barring an additional injury.
