No surprise at all that both Christian Jones and Russell Bodine are salary cap casualties.
Christian Jones has good intangibles but not enough physical skills. Jones is capable of playing a number of roles. None though at a level in which he's a preferred type of option.
Russell Bodine would have had an uphill battle to make the Lions 53 roster if he didn't Opt-Out of the 2020 season because of COVID-19 concerns. With a new GM, HC, and Offensive Coordinator, Bodine would have had an even more difficult task to make the Lions 53 man roster come September.
I wish both players and their families well.
