The LA Rams problematic salary cap situation could realistically be an obstacle that prevents the Rams and Marvin Jones coming to a contract agreement.

If the Rams feel they can satisfy Jones contractually, that opens the door for Rams UFA WR Josh Reynolds and Jones in essence switching places.

The chances of the Lions and Marvin Jones reaching a contract agreement that keeps Jones with the Lions is probably around 10%.

With the NFL Salary Cap in 2021 likely not going to be close to what the cap was in 2020, it's going to be an uphill battle for Marvin Jones to get an offer that combines going to a serious Super Bowl contender in the 2021 season and getting the contract he thinks he's worth.

The only reason why there's any chance Marvin Jones could re-sign with the Lions in 2021 is his history with the team. Most likely, both Jones and the Lions have already moved on. I would be surprised if the Lions even make Jones a contract offer.
