It looks like the ankle injury that ended Marvin Jones' 2019 season is not hindering him at all. Assuming that's the case, it would be welcome news.

Marvin Jones is capable of 15 TD receptions if Jones, along with Matthew Stafford, stay relatively healthy. The more weapons available at a relatively healthy level, the more favorable situations Jones will be in. Jones has arguably been the best UFA signing by Bob Quinn in the GMs first 4 seasons in that role with the Lions.

I think it's fair to express the opinion that Marvin Jones is one of the most underrated players in the NFL. That much more when factoring in intangibles.

Marvin Jones' value extends beyond what he provides in game action. His professionalism is something that young receivers on the Lions should benefit from. I'm not surprised Marvin Jones came through with two hugely important plays in crunch time.

In addition, Everson Griffen is set to be an UFA in 2021. Damon 'Snacks' Harrison' was under contract for 2 more season when the Lions traded for him.

The 2020 season finale against the Vikings is likely the final game for Marvin Jones with the Lions. Unlike most UFAs that sign contracts for 4 or more seasons in length, Marvin Jones ended up playing the entire contract he signed with the Lions under the terms of the contract. Even though the Lions didn't have close to the team success that was hoped for, I believe that both the Lions and Marvin Jones benefited from Jones signing with the Lions in 2016.

Good receivers come and go but the major problem is : "The Lions have only five draft picks and a shrinking salary cap", this is the real head-scratcher for the new duo GM / HC.

Frenchy, the Lions Salary Cap situation concerns me much more than the Lions only having 5 draft picks in the 2021 Draft at this time. If the Lions make a good GM hire, the new GM should be able to add to the number of draft picks the team has by trading down with one or more of the Lions draft picks.
