Detroit Lions complete head coach interview of Robert Saleh
......
This thread relates to the following thread
Lions 2021 Head Coach options
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/833/lions-2021-head-coach-options
Much like with Eric Bieniemy, 5 out of 6 teams with a HC opening have interviewed Robert Saleh or have an interview scheduled with him. The Texans are the exception in both cases. Both coaches have earned an NFL HC opportunity.
Because Robert Saleh grew up in Dearborn, which is in walking distance of the Lions Allen Park Practice Facility, and has many family members and friends still living in Greater Detroit, I think there's a much better chance that Saleh accepts the Lions HC job, if he gets more than one NFL HC offers, than Bieniemy.
There are two reasons why I prefer Bieniemy over Saleh, if given the choice between the 2 of them:
1. Bieniemy has the experience of being an NFL Assistant Head Coach.
2. I'm concerned that Saleh coaching in the area he grew up in will cause distractions for Saleh and the Lions.

Home sweet home in Detroit Lions coach search? Why Robert Saleh may have toughest decision
........
Jeff Stergalas gave Robert Saleh good advice with the decision he could have to make in the coming days or not long after. I think Stergalas knows that as much of a pressure cooker any NFL HC job situation is, it would be compounded substantially for Saleh if he becomes Lions HC.
Having said this, I can't stress enough that the LA Chargers HC job is one that should be avoided because of ownership.

Signs point to the Jets hiring Robert Saleh
........
The Jets have pick # 2 in the 2021 Draft. It remains to be seen if the Jets keep Sam Darnold, as they easily could decide to draft a QB with pick # 2 ( and trade Darnold ).

Jets coaching finalist Robert Saleh interviewing with Eagles
......
If the Lions still have serious interest in Robert Saleh for the team's HC, the opportunity appears to still be there. How much longer is the question?
I still believe the Jets are the favorite to land Saleh. With the Lions either 2nd or 3rd ( Eagles are probably also in the top 3 likely landing spots for Saleh.

Report: Chargers are expected to interview Robert Saleh for second time
..........
If the choice comes down to the Jets, Chargers, or Eagles, I think Robert Saleh will decide to become the next HC of the Jets.
I think the Lions hiring Brad Holmes as GM reduces the Lions becoming where Robert Saleh lands. If Saleh was the Lions top choice or even 2nd choice, I think a GM with connections to Saleh such as Ed Dodds, would have been the Lions GM choice.
