Other than Brad Holmes not having experience as a GM / personnel decision maker, he looks like a very favorable Lions GM candidate.

With Terry Fontenot also a finalist for the Falcons GM job, it looks like there will be clarity. regarding Brad Holmes this week. No other team had reportedly seeked to interview Holmes for their GM job opening this winter.

George Paton agreed to contract terms with the Broncos to become their new GM.

A very realistic scenario is the Lions and Falcons will hire Brad Holmes or Terry Fontenot.

My gut feeling is the Lions will end up hiring Brad Holmes and the Falcons will end up hiring Terry Fontenot. Falcons owner Arthur Blank was willing to wait for then Seahawks Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn until after the 2014 season Super Bowl in order to hire Quinn as Falcons HC. Based on this, I think he will be willing to wait until the Saints season is over, to hire Holmes or Fontenot. This is assuming that teams would have to wait for GM candidates, if they are working under a GM in an NFL Front Office, on a team still in the playoffs.
