Detroit Lions discuss coaching vacancy with Marvin Lewis
Lions interviewed Marvin Lewis
Lions confirm they have interviewed Eric Bieniemy, Marvin Lewis .....

Lions 2021 Head Coach options

On the plus side, Marvin Lewis is the only Bengals HC in the last 30 seasons that had success in that role. Every other Bengals HC in that time frame failed to lead the team to a winning record season. The vast majority of the time, the Bengals were at or near the bottom of the NFL when Lewis wasn't HC in these 30 seasons.
In addition, Marvin Lewis had plenty of regular season success despite the Bengals being run on a shoestring budget by Owner / GM Mike Brown. This is the hardest place to win in the entire league.
I like that Lewis is an attack mode Defensive Coach.
My two concerns regarding Marvin Lewis are the lack of discipline on the Bengals far too often. The implosion of LB Vontaze Burfict against the Steelers in the 2015 season playoffs easily could have been the difference in the outcome of the game.
The other concern relates to the lack of discipline with the Bengals, their 0-7 playoff record under Lewis.

Meet Detroit Lions head coach candidate: The pros and cons of hiring Marvin Lewis
......
Having a younger Coordinator, who has the potential to be a long term solution as Lions HC, is the direction the Lions should go if Marvin Lewis is going to be offered the Lions HC job. I would have had Brayden Combs in mind ( he coached under Lewis in Cincinnati for 10 seasons ) if not for him going rouge with the Punt Fake at Tennessee.
