NFL Week 10 2020 picks
Washington (+3.5) at Lions
MDS’s take: It’s going to be a long second half of the season for Washington, while the Lions are still clinging to slim playoff hopes. Detroit will take this one easily.
MDS’s pick: Lions 28, Washington 17.
Florio’s take: With a full week to practice, Alex Smith could get back to being Alex Smith again, nearly two years to the day after suffering a badly broken leg.
Florio’s pick: Washington 23, Lions 20.
..............
The two major reasons why the Lions lost on the road to then Redskins last November were Special Teams and the Lions not protecting the ball. If the Lions at least break even in these facets against the WFT on Sunday, I think Lions will likely win the game.

A nice opportunity to watch the number 2 pick Chase Young. He mainly plays LDE, he has 3.5 sacks, 4 QB hits, 3 QB hurries and 5 TFL ... which OL will have the charge to shut him down , Tyrell Crosby again ?

Through Week # 9, the WFT are the only team in the NFL I haven't seen in a game this season. In looking at the highlights of some of Chase Young's splash plays, it looks like he has seen plenty of action at RDE. Which would match him up on Taylor Decker's side.
Because Ryan Kerrigan primarily lined up on the Left Side of the Redskins Defense in past seasons, for at least now I am going under the assumption that Chase Young will be at RDE when Kerrigan is in the game.

Detroit News predictions: Lions vs. Washington
..........
With the Lions Offense dealing with numerous injuries, the Lions Defense must step up. It probably will be difficult for the Lions to put together long TD drives. The Lions Special Teams also needs to be good in all facets.

Detroit Lions vs. Washington: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
.........
The Lions need to limit Terry McLaurin. He's the player on the WFT Offense who is capable of causing the most damage. Much like the Patriots have used a strategy over the years of focusing on limiting an opposing Offense top playmaker, this is what I think the Lions shoukd attempt against McLaurin. Unless proven otherwise, the drop-off between McLaurin and the rest of the WFT WRs and TEs is immense.

Detroit News scouting report: Washington at Lions
.........
One thing that jumps out is the wealth of experience the WFT has on Defense in the form of Head Coach Ron Rivera and Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio. Both were quality LBs in the NFL, before going on to become coaches. Del Rio had a 3 interception game with the Vikings against the Lions in 1993, during the 5 game stretch Barry Sanders was out with a knee injury. That was the final game QB Rodney Peete played for the Lions.

Washington's improved secondary has been one of few bright spots in 2020
.........
One of Kendall Fuller's older brothers, Bears CB Kyle Fuller had an interception against the Lions this season ( with help from S Eddie Jackson ). That play was a key to the Bears comeback win. Their brother, former Lions and Saints WR Corey Fuller, didn't come close to having the NFL success that Kyle and Kendall Fuller have had.

Not having Jamal Agnew and Jarrad Davis is a loss of big play potential on all 3 units.
Logan Stenberg continues to be behind practice squad players in the Lions 2020 playing pecking order.
