Injury Report: Antonio Gibson DNP with shoulder injury; Dustin Hopkins limited

Kyle Allen dislocated his ankle in the WFT loss to the Giants this past Sunday. Alex Smith is scheduled to start at QB for the WFT in Detroit.
Rookie RB Antonio Gibson has been a bright spot for the 2-6 WFT. Former Bucs RB Peyton Barber and former Lions RB J.D McKissic probably will split the WFT RB snap load if Gibson doesn't play in the game.

Detroit Lions are 0-3 without Kenny Golladay and might not have him again vs. Washington
............
Kenny Golladay was sidelined for all 3 divisional games the Lions played in the first half of the season. The Lions weren't even close to winning the previous 2 divisional games.
The Defensive and Offensive Lines are where the Lions have the most numerous injury concerns at this time. The Secondary is also an area of concern, regarding injuries numbers wise.

With long time veteran QBs having much more success against the Lions than 2nd year QBs, Alex Smith's first start since he suffered an injury that looked like a career ender is a great opportunity for him. That much more against a Lions team that is dealing with numerous injuries. |

The likely availability of Antonio Gibson is indeed a boost for the WFT.
Thomas Davis was a 1st Round pick in 2005. Considering the numerous major injuries Davis has dealt with, it's nothing short of amazing that he's still playing in the NFL.
Cornelius Lucas has certainly improved since his Lions days. The Lions need to use Lucas' height against him. This is something I believe the compact and strong Everson Griffen can use to his advantage.

This is the injury T.J. Hockenson dealt with last week. My guess and hope is the Lions expect him to play against the WFT. With the day off from practice being part of the maintenance process.

Stafford needs target, unfortunately TJ Hockenson is the only "glorified slot receiver" among Lions TEs.

Agreed.
I'm hoping Hunter Bryant can develop into a glorified slot receiver as well. First, he needs to stay healthy long enough to warrant being in a game.
