I expressed the following in the 'Lions reach the 53 roster limit after cutdown (2020 season )' thread:
3. David Blough. Very risky decision by Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia. How the Lions can keep CB Mike Ford on the 53 man roster over Blough is beyond me. Priority P.S. player if Blough clears waivers. I think there's a little less than 50 % chance Blough is claimed by another team. Yet. it feels like the Lions are playing Russian Roulette at the most important position.
Granted, there are other QB options for the P.S., including some that hit the open market in the last two days. Yet, with the time investment in David Blough and even more importantly the adjustment for another QB to learn the Lions system, the Lions are rolling the dice. This has the feel of a gamble, not a calculated risk. Especially, when factoring in the overall COVID-19 situation.
