Lions’ rookies won’t report until next week
............
I'm far from convinced it was a good idea for the Lions to wait to bring the rookies to training camp when the veterans report. Why not bring them in early, in case one or more test positive? This way, if a rookie does test positive, he can begin the isolation ( and treatment, if needed. ) process sooner.

Detroit Lions to split squad after keeping roster at 90 players
...........
If the following is accurate information, I believe the Lions made the right decision by going with 90 players at the beginning of training camp.
Of course, the Lions also have the option of trimming their roster to 80 players at any point, which would allow the rookies to rejoin the rest of the team immediately. And their first un-padded practice remains a long ways away, on Aug. 12. The contact period begins on Aug. 17.[/b]

Detroit Lions training camp observations: A sleeper to watch in the offensive backfield
Aug.20,2020
...........
There's no question that Jamal Agnew substantially increased his chances this summer of being on the Lions opening day roster.
Jason Cabinda could be exposed to waivers, with the Lions re-signing him 1 to 3 days later My guess is Cabinda won't be claimed off waivers. If the Lions see a better FB / combined option on the open market, Cabinda would then likely sign a P.S. contract with the Lions. Nick Bawden is already on season ending I.R..
Tracy Walker could easily be a breakout player this season. His skills and versatility at Safety are clearly assets.
Austin Bryant is very likely heading to the Regular Season PUP List.

Detroit Lions camp observations: Big day for defense, Jeff Okudah gets first-team reps
Aug.21,2020
.........
I'm confident that Jeff Okaduh and the Lions will benefit by making Okudah earn a starting spot instead of handing it to him.
David Blough did a good job on deep passes in his 5 collective starts as a rookie.
With 16 player practice squads, it makes sense to carry at least one Specialist on the P.S. Two should even be considered.

Detroit Lions camp observations: What I've seen from key players on roster bubble
Aug.22,2020
........
Jason Huntley's playmaking ability and versatility combination makes him too risky to put on the waiver wire. This is even not factoring in the leg injury that DeAndre Swift has been dealing with.
Because of the experience factor, I think Don Muhlbach will win the Lions Long Snapper job. Also, Matt Prater was more effective on FG' s in some of the earlier practice reports with Muhlbach snapping the ball.
