Detroit Lions observations: What in the world are they doing with Tracy Walker?

The Lions probably will use 3 Safety packages pretty frequently.

In packages with 2 Safeties, I can envision Will Harris at SS over Tracy Walker because Harris is probably a better fit in the box vs. the run.

Marvin Hall is helping his cause. If the Lions keep 6 WRs on the 53 man roster, Hall likely will stick. Anything less than 6 puts his roster spot in jeopardy, barring a significant injury at WR.

Tony McRae looks like he will be on the opening day roster.

Because of Desmond Trufant's wealth of experience, I think he can adjust to playing RCB again pretty quickly.

Quintez Cephus probably is ahead of where most NFL rookie WRs from the 2020 Draft are at this point in time. The reports on Cephus have been much more favorable than not.

Much like at Center, the LionsTackle depth is concerning. An addition not currently on the roster seems like a realistic possibility in the coming days.

Danny Shelton looks like a significant upgrade over the 2019 version of Damon 'Snacks' Harrison.

Matthew Stafford might be the Lions best player regardless of position.

It would make sense to keep the 6 WRs on the 53 man roster because of the 6th WR being a better player than the # 3 TE. The Lions can call up a # 3 TE from the P.S. each game.

It's hard to gauge if any Lions player currently on the active roster is in danger of missing the season opener vs. the Bears because of an ongoing injury.

Lions break in mostly empty Ford Field to get used to different atmosphere, procedures

It's going to be interesting to compare home vs. away results in the 2020 season for the respective NFL teams compared to other seasons. I'm not going to assume the away team will win more games than in a typical season. The adjustment to different stadium conditions and travel, due to COVID-19, might help home teams more than many are anticipating.
