Ravens apply franchise tag to Matthew Judon
……………..
This doesn't come as a surprise. Matt Juden has come along way since his days with Grand Valley State. It remains to be seen whether the Ravens and Juden can come to a long term contract agreement.

Chargers use franchise tag on Hunter Henry
…………..
When healthy, Hunter Henry has been one of the most productive TEs in the NFL. Durability is a major question mark with Henry. From my point of view, it wasn't a given the LA Chargers would use the Franchise Tag on him.

Broncos use franchise tag on Justin Simmons
…………..
This was expected if the two parties couldn't work out a new contract. But it's one less top tier UFA Safety for the Lions to choose from if that's the direction the Lions want to go in, given the options.

Jaguars franchise Yannick Ngakoue
………………..
No surprise at all.
It seems inevitable that Yannick Ngakoue will be traded by the Jaguars.
My guess is the Lions won't trade for Ngakoue, based on the combination of the cost of what would be a lucrative contract, trade compensation ( the Lions 2nd Round pick- # 35 in 2020 likely would be the central piece in a trade if it were to occur with the two teams ), and the uncertainty of whether Chase Young will be available with the Lions 1st Round pick- # 3.
Having said this, Ngakoue is one of the most gifted pass rushers in the NFL. He has a knack of forcing fumbles-14 in his 4 seasons with Jacksonville. He doesn't turn 25 until the end of this month.

New CBA complicates free agency for Cowboys and Titans
……………..
Barring contract agreements, I'm anticipating that Dallas will use a version of the Franchise Tag ( probably- though a close call- the exclusive version ) on Dak Prescott. With Tennessee placing the non-exclusive Franchise Tag on Derrick Henry.

A.J. Green gets franchise tag in Cincinnati
………………..
With injuries limiting A.J. Green to 9 games in the last 2 seasons, none in 2019, and Green turning 32 this summer, I don't think they would have used the Franchise Tag on A.J. Green if Joe Burrow was more receptive to play for the Bengals.

Chiefs apply franchise tag to Chris Jones
…………….
No surprise at all.
Chris Jones was my choice for Super Bowl MVP. He deflected at least 3 passes in the Chiefs comeback Super Bowl win over the 49ers. Including one in the 4th QTR when the 49ers were trying to protect a lead.

Buccaneers tagging Shaquil Barrett
…………
The article helps sum up my thoughts on both Shaquil Barrett and Jameis Winston. The latter's future as an NFL starting QB and where, is very uncertain at this time.

Giants plan to franchise tag Leonard Williams
…………….
The leverage Leonard Williams had in essence forced the Giants hand to place the Franchise Tag on him. The high amount of salary cap space they have gave them more flexibility to use the Franchise Tag on Williams. It's fair to say that he has been a good NFL player with both the Jets and Giants. But not someone who lived up to being a former # 6 pick overall ( 2015 Draft ).
