What could the market for veteran OL Jason Peters look like in free agency?
……………….
It doesn't make sense for the Lions to sign Jason Peters unless the coaches believe he would be a good fit at Guard and his asking price is lower than the $ 6 million he received from the Eagles in 2019. It's highly unlikely the Lions will be the team that ends up signing Peters. Teams with a glaring hole at LT would likely be willing to pay Peters more than the Lions would.

NFL free agency preview: Ex-Michigan State football star Jack Conklin headlines OT group
……………..
I don't think the Lions will sign Joe Thuney as an UFA this year because his expected asking price will be too high. Yet, because of the Patriots connection, Thuney can't be ruled out as a possibility for the Lions. Especially, when factoring in the need at Guard for the Lions.
Rick Wagner is a wildcard because his play hasn't matched his contract.
The bottom line is other than Frank Ragnow, there's uncertainty on the Lions Offensive Line. Taylor Decker likely will be the Lions starting LT but he's entering the final year of his rookie contract. The rest of the current Lions Offensive Lineman have question marks in terms of performance. With health also a question mark with Joe Dahl. Back injuries are concerning.

Dolphins agree to deal with Patriots center Ted Karras
…………….
The Patriots have two 3rd Round and two 6th Round 2020 Compensatory Draft Picks. Based on their massive Free Agent losses, they likely will end up with 4 Compensatory Picks in 2021 as well. With at least one 3rd Round Pick ( Tom Brady loss ).
The late Alex Karras is the Great Uncle of Ted Karras. The Dolphins very likely envision Ted Karras as their starting Center for the 2020 season, based on the basic terms of the contract he agreed to with Miami.
Alex Karras is the most recent former Lions player to be voted into the Pro Football HOF.

Vikings release guard Josh Kline
……………
This was a huge surprise, even considering the Vikings problematic salary cap situation. Josh Kline was one of the Vikings best Offensive Line performers in the 2019 season. When Kline was out with an injury, the Vikings felt the affects on a massive scale in their early season loss at Chicago.
I have doubts that Josh Kline is a good enough system fit for the Lions. But he's someone worth keeping an eye on regarding the Lions RG situation.

49ers inform Mike Person of his release
…………………
This came as a surprise as well. Mike Person was a major contributor to the 49ers stellar running game in the 2019 season.
Much like with Josh Kline, I have doubts Mike Person is a good enough system fit for the Lions. Yet, with the Lions uncertainty at RG and Person coming off a good season, he's a possible option until/ unless proven otherwise.

Seahawks release D.J. Fluker
…………..
Even with the draft additions in the middle rounds of G Jonah Jackson and Logan Stenberg, I think the Lions should seriously consider signing D.J. Fluker if the contract is short term and team favorable. Especially, when considering the transition to the NFL for rookies is going to be more difficult this season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fluker was in Seattle after Darrell Bevell was no longer Offensive Coordinator. Yet, as a veteran, I think he would pick up the Lions system more quickly than a rookie Guard would.

Report: Seahawks releasing center Justin Britt also
……………..
Another veteran player the Lions could have interest in to compete for a starting spot at Guard and provide depth at Center. Britt played 4 seasons when Darrell Bevell was the Seahawks Offensive Coordinator. However, unlike with the Lions in the present, the Seahawks used primarily a Zone Blocking Scheme back then. D.J. Fluker probably is a better fit at Guard for the Lions than Britt is.

Saints release Larry Warford
………..
This thread relates to the following thread:
NFL Draft Preview: Offensive Lineman ( 2020 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/592/draft-preview-offensive-lineman-2020
Before the Lions drafted Jonah Jackson and Logan Stenberg in the middle rounds, Larry Warford looked like a great fit for the Lions. This, providing Warford was released by the Lions, and the two parties could agree to a contract.
Though Warford would still make sense for the Lions, there's a good chance another team will offer him a better contract than the Lions would.
