Dolphins want to get No. 3 and No. 5 in effort to get to No. 1
…………….
The cost of the Dolphins making the trade with the Lions without giving up pick # 5 and then making a trade with the Bengals for the # 1 pick would be enormous to the nth degree. I don't think this going to happen. But if it does, the Lions will have very likely received much more than what the typical Trade Value Chart shows as the compensation value.

It makes plenty of sense.

Mel Kiper sends Derrick Brown to Lions; Jeff Okudah falls in last-minute NFL mock draft
……………….
I would be shocked if the Lions drafted two interior Defensive Lineman with the team's top 2 picks, unless the Lions get at least a 2nd Round pick from another team as a result of trading down from pick # 3. Even with the latter scenario, it's not likely. This is taking nothing away from Ross Blacklock, who I project the Lions taking with pick # 35 under the scenario of Jeff Okudah being the Lions choice with pick # 3. If the Lions draft Okudah or Isaiah Simmons, regardless of the spot of the draft, I believe Blacklock would be the selection at # 35 under the Mock Draft scenario ( or one similar ) I am projecting.

Regarding my preference order for Round 1, with the current pick # 3 Draft Resource, I'm only going to include 4 players.
1. DE Chase Young ( likely will be pick # 2 by the Redskins. ). 2. CB Jeff Okudah 3. LB Isaiah Simmons 4. DT Derrick Brown
I'm practically, 50-50 regarding Okudah and Simmons as my preference ( excluding Young for obvious reasons. ). I can't recall a draft that my preference choice was this close. The only reason why I put Okudah over Simmons is in real life, a selection has to be made. Simmons probably has more upside potential. Yet, Okudah is an ideal system fit, at a premium position. The latter won out for me. Barely. If Simmons is the choice ( taking the trade down component out of the equation ), that would be terrific as well ( providing Young was previously taken. ).

We looked at 50 NFL mock drafts on the Detroit Lions. Here's what we found
…………..
If these projections are based on percentage and these media members opinions, the Lions have a 2 % chance of drafting Chase Young. I think the chances of higher than that. Probably around 15 %.
Though I'm projecting Jeff Okudah to be the Lions selection, I think the chances are around 65 %, not as high as 80 %.

For Detroit Lions, it's Jeff Okudah or Derrick Brown in tonight's NFL draft
…………….
Jeff Okudah seems like a better value pick than Derrick Brown. Okudah appears to have more upside potential and plays a premium position. If the Lions land Brown as a result of a trade down, with Okudah no longer available, I would be significantly more comfortable than the Lions taking Brown at # 3.

Lions want rest of league to know the third overall pick remains available
…………..
Pick # 9 and # 20 would be a tempting offer for pick # 3. So much from my point of view depends on how highly the Lions rate DT Javon Kinlaw and / or CB C.J. Henderson. IMHO, there's a more than a 50 % chance that Jeff Okudah, Isaiah Simmons, and DerricK Brown will all be taken before pick # 9. If Kinlaw and Henderson are close on the Lions draft board to at least one of the other 3 players, the trade is probably worth making.
