Here’s what Bob Quinn is looking for in an offensive coordinator
………………………...
This new thread relates to the following thread:
Lions decide not to renew contract of OC Jim Bob Cooter
Regarding what Bob Quinn touched on that was mentioned in the article, he clearly wants the Lions next Offensive Coordinator to use the Patriots strategy of run/ pass distribution largely based on the opposing Defense. Case in point was the 2014 Patriots 34-9 win over the Lions in November that season. The Lions had an elite run Defense. Hence, the strategy the Patriots used was throw the ball repeatedly, spreading the field. The Sunday Night prior at Indianapolis, the Patriots ran the ball close to 60% of the time against the Colts vulnerable run Defense.

Lions and Packers could battle for the same offensive coordinator…………………….. I think there's a better chance that Nathaniel Hackett ends up as the Lions Offensive Coordinator this year than the Packers Offensive Coordinator. The fit for what Matt Patricia probably is looking for jumps out with Hackett, as well as Hackett's background.

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator search: Answering your questions
…………………
One concern in particular is if the Lions don't hire an Offensive Coordinator until a day or longer after the Super Bowl, the process of putting together an Offensive Playbook and evaluation of the Lions Offensive talent by the Coordinator is going to be delayed in a significant manner. If the Lions have a coach or coaches in mind from one or two teams remaining in the playoffs, it's best that the team loses this coming Sunday.
