Through the first 9 practices in Training Camp, Kevin Strong has been by far the Lions 2019 UDRFA who has made the greatest positive impact. I didn't anticipate this, as Strong wasn't even on my radar screen when the list of Lions UDRFAs first became available.
The greatest obstacle Kevin Strong has to make the Lions 53 man opening roster is the quality and depth of the Lions Defensive Line, especially in the interior. However if injuries are still problematic upfront for the Lions when the cutdown to 53 decisions are being made and Strong continues on his current course ( especially in joint practices and pre-season games ), he would then have at least a 50-50 chance at being on the opening day roster. The risk of exposing him to waivers could be substantial.
