Lions training camp preview: Five roster battles to watch
I think Joe Dahl is going to emerge as the 5th starter on tbe Lions Offensive Line, barring a Guard being added to the roster who is a starting caliber player.
Rashaan Melvin and Justin Coleman likely are the prime contenders for the starting CB job opposite Darius Slay in base Defensive alignments.
Jermaine Kearse is far from a lock to be on the Lions opening day roster. Deshawn Shead was cut when the Lions got down to 53 players last summer, despite $ 1.5 million in guaranteed money.

Lions training camp observations: Da’Shawn Hand among 4 more DL hurt
…………………..
The Defensive Line injuries, especially tbe injuries to DeShawn Hand and Austin Bryant that they suffered today, overshadow everything with the Lions at this point in time. It wouldn't be surprising if the Lions sign one or two Defensive Lineman by tomorrow. In essence, for practice purposes. The Lions will need practice bodies on the D-Line if at least couple of the D-Lineman out aren't able to practice tomorrow.
T.J. Hockenson will learn from the concentration mistake he made that was mentioned in the article. Overall, his play definitely seems like one of the positives from the first 4 days of training camp.

Lions training camp observations: A’Shawn Robinson returns, still isn’t talking
……………………
A'Shawn Robinson should be in the mix to be a starter.
There's a very realistic chance 4 TEs will be on the Lions opening day roster.
Teez Tabor needs a strong pre-season.
Travis Fulgham is on the roster bubble. But I think he's helped his cause through 5 practices, in landing a spot on the Lions opening day roster.
Excellent news regarding Kelly Stafford.

Lions training camp observations: Tracy Walker has another terrific day
………………………
Tracy Walker could develop into a foundation player.
Teez Tabor is certainly someone to pay close attention to in the upcoming joint practices with the Patriots and in the pre-season opener.
If Matthew Stafford continues to be inconsistent as the summer moves along, tbe Lions running game becomes even more important / emphasis than it already is. It's still early.
Ty Johnson is very likely going to get plenty of snaps on Offense if he continues to impress as a blitz protector and receiver.

Lions training camp observations: Matthew Stafford throws pick for third straight day
……………….
I'm wondering if the major health concerns about Kelly Stafford during much of the off-season have contributed to Matthew Stafford not being sharp in much of the early part of training camp?
Travis Fulgham should get plenty of WR snaps in the pre-season. It's encouraging that the Lions 2019 Draft Class has many positives in the early part of training camp.
Jamal Agnew must improve his ball security.
The Lions TE situation continues to be a strength in practice.

Lions training camp observations: Marvin Jones, Isaac Nauta catch TD passes in scrimmage
Kevin Strong seems to be the Lions 2019 UDRFA who is making the most positive impact in practice. If this carries over in the pre-season games, Strong could easily be claimed off waivers if as expected he's released.
I'm not sure what to make of Graham Glasgow not starting consistently in practice. From my point of view, Glasgow performed better in games at Center than at LG. How the Lions use Guards in the pre-season is something well worth paying attention to from a fan perspective.
The vast majority of the Lions injuries are currently on Defense.

Lions training camp observations: Darius Slay makes return to practice
……………..
Marvin Jones having a strong training camp, despite coming off a season ending knee injury, is very encouraging Lions news.
Matthew Stafford should be fine when the games count in the standings. His play in the scrimmage the other night provides optimism on this end.
Excellent comments by Matt Patricia regarding the horrific situations in El Paso and Dayton.
Calder Hodge is an inspiration!
