Dan Campbell mentioned that Shane Zylstra demonstrated improvement during his time on the Practice Squad this season, including as a blocker.
In the 3 games that Zylstra was elevated from the P.S.(the Lions most recent 3 games), it looked like that Zylstra made strides since the pre-season. Zylstra couldn't be elevated from the P.S. again in the 2024 regular season. With the Lions not currently having another TE (or FB) on the P.S., it was all but inevitable that Zylstra would be signed from the P.S.
