PFT’s Week 9 2024 NFL picks: Florio vs. Simms
Lions (-3.5) at Packers
Even if Jordan Love can play, it won’t be enough against the best team in the NFL.
Florio: Lions, 31-28.
Simms: Lions, 38-28.
........
The Lions Edge Rush situation is concerning to the point that if the Packers injury situation improves substantially for this game, the Packers have a very realistic chance of pulling off an upset.

Packers S Xavier McKinney named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October
..........
The Giants letting get away Xavier McKinney as an UFA might turn out to be amongst the greatest mistakes of this past off-season. The Packers have taken advantage of the opportunity the Giants provided, yet another indicator of why the Packers have been amongst the best organizations in the NFL since the early 1990s.

Packers vs. Lions: 5 things to watch and a prediction for Week 9
.......
The Packers are + 7 in Takeaways vs. Turnovers. They lead the NFL with 19 takeaways (though they played one more game than the Lions).
Rashan Gary was a primary reason why the Packers upset the Lions last Thanksgiving Day. The Lions have to keep him from impacting the game this time around, which won't be easy.

Key question for Lions vs Packers game
.........
It's a credit to Aaron Glenn and his Defensive staff that through this point in time, the Lions have been able to overcome the loss of many Defensive players in the Front 7.

Lions vs. Packers: Last minute thoughts and final score prediction
......
Excellent analysis by Jeff Risdon.
I think that wet conditions would benefit the Lions, negating the advantage the Packers have to at least some extent in generating a pass rush without blitzing.
Even if the Lions lose this game, I believe the Lions will become a better team than prior to the game if the Lions don't suffer any significant injuries in the game. With all due respect to the other teams the Lions have faced in the first 7 games of the season, the Packers are the best team the Lions have faced yet. This is even factoring in the Vikings beating the Packers at Lambeau Field. In that game, Jordan Love's knee injury from the season opening loss to the Eagles in Brazil was clearly adversely affecting him.
