With the Lions having the first practice this week today, prior to the upcoming game against the Bucs, the Lions injury situation heading towards the game should be more clear. Right now, there's reason to be optimistic about the Lions injury situation at this point in time.

Marcus Davenport and Kerby Joseph are more uncertain, regarding the chances of them playing vs. the Bucs.

-Jameson Williams: LP is actually a very good sign after a mild L high ankle sprain. Expecting no limitations Sunday.
-Penei Sewell NP: Suspecting R high ankle which can be tricky. Hope he gets up to LP by Fri.
-Reader FP: He's raring to go but should be reined in a bit to avoid further injury.
-Joseph NP: This is a surprise since he was in on final def play.
-Davenport NP: Another surprise as he was in on 2nd to last def play.
-Davis FP: After landing on elbow, slightly more than wind but no biggie.
-Melifonwu NP: Not good
-Strickland FP: Might see his 1st action Sunday

The loss of Antoine Winfield Jr. for the Bucs is an enormous one for the Bucs. Hopefully, he will be healthy enough to play sooner than expected. Great player, much like his dad was.

IMHO, Luke Goedeke is a much better pass blocker than a run blocker. If Goedeke doesn't play in the game, his likely replacement, Justin Skule almost certainly be getting plenty of help against Aidan Hutchinson. The Bucs LT, Tristan Wirfs, who like Lions RT Penei Sewell, signed a lucrative contract this past off-season. Wirfs is clearly a top 5 all-around Offensive Tackle. He's arguably the Bucs best player. The matchups with Hutch vs. Wirfs are worth the price of admission by itself!

Unless Penei Sewell has a setback, I'm optimistic he will at least begin the game vs. the Bucs.

James Houston should have an opportunity vs. the Bucs.

Tom Kennedy will probably be elevated from the Practice Squad for a 2nd straight game. The Lions will likely make an additional P.S. elevation. With the decision on who else to elevate depending on what the Lions anticipate regarding the players on the Lions Injury Report not ruled out for the game.

If the Lions brass decides to take extra caution with Penei Sewell, keeping him out of the game vs. the Bucs on Sunday, I would be more than comfortable with the decision.
